Aerojet Rocketdyne will purchase solar power supply from Silicon Ranch Corp. for the company’s leased facility in East Camden, Arkansas.

Silicon Ranch plans to complete construction of the 100-acre solar field in Highland Industrial Park in late 2015, Aerojet Rocketdyne said Friday.

The 12-megawatt project will supply supplemental daytime power to Aerojet Rocketdyne and release the excess energy to Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp.’s generation portfolio.

Chris Conley, vice president of environmental, health and safety for Aerojet Rocketdyne, said the company intends for the agreement with AECC to attain its objectives toward clean air and economic growth.

“It will contribute to state and federal energy portfolio goals, as well as many of the economic challenges that face businesses,” Conley added.

Ouachita Electric Cooperative provided support to the agreement with technical guidance on power production and delivery.
