Inmarsat Government — a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British satellite services firm — and Globecomm Systems have partnered to provide U.S. government customers with the Global Xpress Ka-band data service as part of a subscription services agreement.
Inmarsat Government said Tuesday it designed Global Xpress to interoperate with the military’s Wideband Global Satellite system.
“We are pleased to add Global Xpress to our service offerings… [for] our current and future U.S. government customers operating in various theaters around the world,” said Dwight Hunsicker, senior vice president and general manager of Globecomm’s government solutions unit.
Globecomm is a value-added reseller of Inmarsat’s Global Xpress to the public sector in the Middle East and Africa.
