The National Space Club Florida Committee has inducted Pedro Medelius and T.K. Smith of ASRC Federal into its Hall of Fame with 10 other space industry professionals for “sustained performance” in space launch technology.
ASRC Federal said Wednesday Medelius and Smith will have their names etched on the NSCFL Hall of Fame granite pylon at the U.S. Space Walk of Fame in Florida.
“Being selected to the inaugural class of space workers inducted into the National Space Club Florida Committee Hall of Fame appropriately reflects and honors their dedication and valuable contributions,” said Mark Gray, president and chief executive officer of ASRC Federal.
Medelius, the company’s chief technologist, has worked with NASA‘s Kennedy Space Center for more than two decades and has helped develop new technologies in electronic instrumentation and lightning detection and location, among other fields.
Smith, a former technician for the Space Shuttle, works as a spacecraft technician on ASRC Federal’s Orion program and has contributed to designs toward Orion’s life-cycle affordability.
