Lockheed Martin has partnered with BGN Technologies, EMC and Jerusalem Venture Partners under Israel’s CyberSpark Industry Initiative, which aims to bolster public-private partnerships in the country as well as international industry collaboration.
Lockheed said Monday the nonprofit initiative works to coordinate defense forces, government agencies and academia in Israel for joint cyber industry activities through its cyber center at the Advanced Technologies Park in Beer-Sheva.
Joshua Shani, CEOÂ of Lockheed Martin Israel, said the company joined the group as part of its efforts to further its relationship with the local information, communications and technology sector.
The company has also opened a new Beer-Sheva office in April.
The CyberSpark Industry Initiative intends to leverage the development of the Beer-Sheva region as a future center for cyber technology, support the recruitment and development of local cyber talent and attract potential investors, Lockheed said.
