A Thales Group–Raytheon joint venture has been selected by the French defense agency to supply fixed and mobile surveillance platforms to France’s armed forces.
ThalesRaytheonSystems will deliver 12 Ground Master 400 fixed radars and four Ground Master 200 mobile radars for the French SCCOA air defense program, Thales said Thursday.
Jerome Bendell, CEO of ThalesRaytheonSystems’ French operations, said the company has delivered radar systems for installation at French military bases in Kourou, Nice and Lyon.
The technology is built to detect airborne threats at low and high altitudes and is part of Thales’ three-dimesional air defense radars portfolio.
According to Thales, the Ground Master 3D surveillance platforms are also designed to integrate with NATO‘s Air Command and Control System, which ThalesRaytheonSystems built.
