Iron Mountain and Seagate Technology will combine their cloud services and information storage and management tools to address demand for cloud-based tools for data backup and disaster recovery.
The companies said Monday the partnership includes the colocation of Seagate’s data center at Iron Mountain’s National Underground Data Center and a reseller agreement for Seagate’s EVault Cloud Server Backup and EVault Cloud Disaster Recovery offerings.
Mike Palmer, senior vice president and general manager of cloud systems and solutions at Seagate, said his company will host its cloud services in Iron Mountain’s data center in a push to help organizations fulfill data security and reliability requirements.
The alliance will provide data recovery services based on service-level agreements and cloud services in a pay-as-you-go model.
Iron Mountain’s National Underground Data Center is located 220 feet underground near Pittsburgh.
