Battelle has partnered with Rhombus Power to develop and offer platforms for detecting nuclear and radiological materials to the U.S. Defense Department.
The companies plan to jointly compete for the agency’s Man Portable Radiation Detection System development program, Battelle said Thursday.
Rhombus Power builds nuclear threat detectors for customers in the security, intelligence and defense markets.
“We look forward to working together with Rhombus on this important radiation and nuclear detection issue,” said Matthew Shaw, general manager of Battelle’s CBRNE defense business unit.
DoD is seeking technology that can help military personnel locate weapons of mass destruction and obtain information about WMD-equipped adversaries, according to Battelle.
