Booz Allen Hamilton has introduced an online information technology course designed to educate enrollees on data analysis and management through game-like instruction.
The Explore Data Science program consists of more than 40-hour virtual lessons across multiple proficiency levels and aims to teach participants to turn raw data into actionable business insight, Booz Allen said Wednesday.
“In today’s highly competitive marketplace, being able to effectively compile, manage and analyze data is critically important to a business’ growth, strategic development and overall success,†said Peter Guerra, a principal at Booz Allen’s strategic innovation group.
Guerra added the company launched the training program with the goal of helping industry fill information science workforce needs.
The course includes 32 galactic-themed missions where players would learn algorithms for pattern learning and methods for data organization, according to Booz Allen.
