IBM‘s business arm in Canada will provide and operate data center space to Shared Services Canada in support of the Canadian government’s efforts to consolidate its data center infrastructure.
“There’s never been a more important time for industry and government to share best-practices as Canada continues this important transformation and adapts to new trends like cloud, big data, mobile and social computing,” David Anthony, director of IBM Canada‘s federal public sector business, said Wednesday.
The company says it has 19 data centers across Canada and has invested at least $200 million in domestic expansion efforts to deliver its cloud services to clients.
