Booz Allen Hamilton has open sourced its “Project Jellyfish” cloud broker project to users of Red Hat‘s ManageIQ platform to facilitate collaboration and broker-type management of cloud services across different environments.
Booz Allen said Wednesday the project’s code, processes, documentation and other resources are now available to the ManageIQ community through the Booz Allen Hamilton account in GitHub.
“The Federal Government is looking to open source more and more – indeed, we expect to see agencies and programs quickly requiring open source to facilitate reuse, improve cycle time, increase quality, and reduce cost,” said Jarid Cottrell, senior associate at Booz Allen.
Booz Allen intends to build on its open cloud brokerage portfolio for government clients with ManageIQ.
Red Hat’s open source ecosystem manager John Mark Walker said his company aims to further ManageIQ as a resource for shared industry best practices.
Booz Allen said Project Jellyfish will have an initial release that leverages Drupal, while a second version scheduled for release early next year will include new user interface and user experience features.
