A Cubic subsidiary that builds game-based training platforms has joined an industry alliance designed to encourage collaboration among technology developers, universities and government agencies.
The EDGE Innovation Network offers a collaborative environment for organizations to build new tools to help first responders, warfighters and law enforcement officers perform their missions, Cubic said Wednesday.
Bill Rebarick, general manager of Cubic Advanced Learning Solutions, said the company seeks to deliver live, virtual and constructive games for training through the consortium.
“Gamification is changing the way we learn by using immersive, three-dimensional virtual environments to teach adults in settings and situations that are virtually identical to the ones in which they will be performing tasks,” Rebarick added.
The EDGE is comprised of more than 475 member organizations and has 17 innovation centers worldwide.
General Dynamics‘ C4 systems business serves as the network’s lead technology partner.
