Bechtel has won a contract to provide design and engineering services for planned liquefied natural gas terminal on the Mississippi River in New Orleans.
The company plans to use a modular strategy intended to hasten construction work on the liquefaction and export facilities of Louisiana LNG Energy LLC, Bechtel said Wednesday.
Louisiana LNG Energy aims to export as much as 2 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas per year from the terminal.
The plant would leverage a Chart Energy and Chemicals-made liquefaction technology, according to Bechtel.
Construction is slated to complete in late 2017.
