Boeing has established an aerospace-focused research facility on the campus of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, Arab News reported Monday.
Arab News reports the Boeing Research and Technology office seeks to work with other companies through the KAUST Industrial Cooperation program, as well as to develop young professionals’ technical skills.
“This initiative with KAUST is a key tool for research within the Kingdom and a step in partnering with other Saudi organizations in to develop research and technology infrastructure, and capabilities here,” said Ahmed Jazzar, president of Boeing’s Saudi Arabian business, according to the newspaper.
The company and the university have collaborated on projects related to advanced materials, computer modeling, solar power and water treatment.
