Paul Sagan has been elected to the board of directors of VMware Inc., effective immediately, to fill the spot left by David Goulden.
Sagan, a partner at General Catalyst Partners, also serves as a director at EMC Corp. and iRobot Corp., VMware announced.
During his career, Sagan also served various positions at Akamai Technologies Inc., ultimately serving as chief executive officers for eight years until 2013. His expertise include internet-based technologies for complex global organizations.
