United-health-groupUnitedHealth Group‘s UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Pennsylvania has unveiled two text-messaging services from Voxiva to enable its Medicaid enrollees in York, Allegheny and Philadelphia counties to manage and monitor their own health and well-being.

Txt4health is designed to send personalized messages on medical appointments, schedule of medication, preventive care guidelines and other health tips, while Text4kids alerts parents on their child’s check-ups, vaccines and developmental milestones, UnitedHealth Group said Thursday.

“Txt4health and Text4kids provide useful health information for people in a convenient, cost-effective way, no matter where they are,” said Susan Schick, CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Pennsylvania.

According to Voxiva CEO Justin Sims, the two services utilize an evidence-based and personalized approach.

They will be a free service from UnitedHealthcare, but standard message and data rates from users’ mobile service providers may apply.
