IBM will build an open-source hybrid cloud infrastructure for South Korea’s anti-corruption and civil rights commission to centralize operations and consolidate public service phone numbers into one communications channel.
The company said Friday that the agency has adopted the IBM zCloud platform for electronic services such as e-People and The 110 Government Call Center, which processes complaints, civil petitions and administrative appeals.
IBM will work with ITCen to consolidate the agency’s systems and applications into the 110 Call Center and is targeting all ACRC departments to be integrated into the cloud system on an estimated 100 virtual machines by the end of 2015.
By July, the companies aim to have six government departments into the new call center under a pilot project.
ACRC aims to field more than 1.25 million complaints, 2.2 million civil petitions and 30,000 administrative appeals per year once the installation work is completed.
