LG Electronics has been selected as a launch partner for the Energy Department’s program to help commercial building owners identify energy-efficient technologies.
The company handed the performance features of its variable refrigerant flow commercial air systems to DOE to kick off the Technology Performance Exchange program, LG Electronics said Thursday.
Kevin McNamara, vice president of commercial air conditioning at LG Electronics USA, said the company intends for the collaboration to help building owners drive energy efficiency.
Builders are able to gauge LG’s product performance and perform financial analyses through the TPEx program, McNamara added.
Technology evaluators will have a centralized, web-based access to energy performance data for commercial building technologies under the program.
“LG plans to continue adding technology performance attributes to the TPEx to help commercial buildings conserve energy,” McNamara said.
