Telemar SpA will act as a value added reseller of Inmarsat‘s mobile broadband satellite network to government customers in Europe.
Inmarsat appointed Telemar as a Global Xpress value added reseller for the maritime sector in 2012 and the companies have worked together for more than 30 years, Telemar said Tuesday.
Bruno Musella, Telemar CEO, said his company also will work to commission, maintain and integrate applications for Inmarsat.
The first Global Xpress satellite — Inmarsat-5 F1 — launched in December 2013 and is scheduled to enter commercial service by mid-year 2014, Inmarsat said.
Telemar started in Italy in 1947 and operates 14 companies in 12 countries that provide international managed satellite service and navcom maintenance services to customers.
