General Dynamics‘ ship operating subsidiary has been awarded by the U.S. Navy with a contract modification worth $32.7 million to provide operations and maintenance services for the Military Sealift Command‘s seven large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ships.
General Dynamics American Overseas Marine will provide crewing, engineering, procurement and provisioning support for the vessels as part of the potential seven-year, $238 million contract originally awarded in 2010, the company said Tuesday.
According to Thomas Merrell, president of AMSEA, the company has been supporting the LMSR program for nine years.
