DataDirect Networks and Active Archive Alliance have forged a data storage team in a move that Molly Rector, DDN chief marketing officer, says is aimed to help clients meet data management demands.
DDN intends for the partnership to deliver data storage services from high performance platforms to archive storage, the company said Wednesday.
Floyd Christofferson, Active Archive Alliance chairman of the board, added that the alliance aims to help address requirements for data storage, access and preservation through end user programs.
DDN has combined its GRIDScaler parallel file system and WOS object storage technologies for customers to distribute and protect information for the entire data lifecycle.
The GRIDScaler system and NAS appliance are designed for policy-based data migration between disparate storage platforms, while the WOS platform works to adapt an active archive to large volumes of objects.
