DynCorp International will provide aircraft, pilots and a maintenance team to Touchdown Helicopters in support of an aerial fighting program run by the state of New South Wales’ rural fire service under a potential three-year subcontract.
Chris Bernhardt, DynCorp president, said Wednesday the deal is part of the company’s strategy to provide commercial and international customers the similar types of services already offered to U.S. government agencies.
He noted DynCorp has supported aerial firefighting programs in the state of California and for the U.S. Forest Service.
The subcontract to help with the rural fire service’s UH-1H helicopters is worth up to $3.2 million dollars over one base year and two option years.
