Darren McGrath of Unisys said a new study suggests that companies with a “holistic” approach to their mobile strategy may have a greater chance of reaping its advantages to the fullest, Mobility Techzone reported Feb. 13.
Joe Rizzo quoted McGrath, global director of mobility solutions at Unisys, as saying this “concerted†effort would demand participation from all stakeholders on strategy, infrastructure engineering, business applications and success metrics.
“By taking a holistic, disciplined approach to mobility, organizations can increase the productivity of their people, grow revenue, unleash innovation and find new ways to serve their customers,” McGrath said.
Propagating “incoherent programs†may not yield enough strategic value and hinder business growth, he added.
IDG Connect conducted a 13-nation survey of 450 technology leaders, 21 percent of whom consider their company as a “mobile enterprise.â€
Eighty-four percent of those mobile enterprises reported productivity gains made via their mobile technology roadmaps, compared to 52 percent of those polled who regard their firm as a “mobile void,†Mobility Techzone reports.
