Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $60 million subcontract to perform sustainment and technical support work on electro-optical detector systems for the U.K. military’s fleet of Apache helicopters.
The company will maintain AH Mk-1 modernized target acquisition designation sight/pilot night vision sensor and spares as well as provide engineering, logistics and repair services, Lockheed said Thursday.
AgustaWestland awarded the five-year contract to Lockheed under a U.K. Apache integrated operational support program.
“Working with AgustaWestland, we developed an M-TADS/PNVS product support strategy designed to optimize system readiness and mission effectiveness,†said Mike Taylor, a program director at Lockheed’s missiles and fire control business.
Work will occur in Ocala and Orlando, Fla., as well as in the U.K. through March 2019.
Lockheed’s M-TADS/PNVS systems are designed to give Apache airmen long-range image resolution when conducting missions during the day, night and extreme weather events.
