Bill MonetAkima President and CEO Bill Monet has joined the National Safety Council’s “CEOs Who Get It” list for his efforts to push employee wellbeing.

The award is annually given out to ten leaders committed to elevating worker safety and health through leadership and engagement, safety management systems, risk reduction and performance measurement, Akima said Jan. 27.

“I believe each employee deserves a safe place to work,” Monet said in acknowledging the recognition.

“It’s also important to embrace a corporate safety culture that will extend to our employees’ friends and families,” he added.

According to the company, Monet’s leadership team and employees receive training and preparation and continuously review their safety protocols as part of the safety-driven culture at Akima.

It has a behavior-based safety program called LIFE (Looking, Intervening, Facilitating and Eliminating) that Monet said is designed to promote safety values that put people first.
