An Elbit Systems company has won an $11.7 million contract modification to develop a helmet-mounted display system for U.S. Marine Corps pilots, Military & Aerospace Electronics reported Thursday.
John Keller writes Fort Worth, Texas-based EFW Inc. will produce helmet display tracker system kits for pilots of the Whiskey Cobra attack helicopter under the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command contract.
Pilots can use the display system to coordinate through a common field of view via a head-up display symbology, drive weapon systems and control electro-optical sensors, according to the report.
Production of the system is scheduled to complete in December, MAE reports.
Keller writes EFW will build the products at its facilities in Texas, California and Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, N.C.
