Verizon has been leveraging its enterprise cloud platform to bring connected solutions to customers, said Anne Plese of the infrastructure and cloud solutions team at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
According to Plese’s Terremark blog post, system developers use Enterprise Cloud Verizon as a base to build machine-to-machine tools specific to their applications, generating information that helps decision makers perform their duties and operate their business.
The company’s IT deals that use cloud technology, wireless network and security services through the platform include Candi Controls, ILS Technology, Tech Mahindra and ThingWorx.
“These solutions include vending machines that can call back to base when they need to be restocked, industrial equipment that can detect and report impending breakdowns and fleet vehicles that report their location to improve job allocation, safety and efficiency,†Plese wrote on the Terremark blog.
The result is a cloud product that targets scalability and cost considerations both on hardware and computing power, she added.
