Red Hat has recognized ManTech for using the former's open-source products in creating a cyber training system for the U.S. Army. ManTech said Monday it received a Red Hat Partner award for developing the Army's Persistent Cyber Training Environment with the help of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

BAE Systems has flown an electronic warfare aircraft equipped with its Small Adaptive Bank of Electronic Resources system to test SABER's potential to provide software updates to the EC-37B Compass Call platform. The company said Monday it worked with the U.S. Air Force to test the technology over 11 EC-130H EW aircraft flights at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions and the Air Force Research Laboratory completed the sixth flight test of the company’s XQ-58A Valkyrie unmanned aerial vehicle on March 26 at Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona. The test flight also demonstrated Valkyrie’s ability to release a small, unmanned aircraft system through its internal weapons bay.

Qwake Technologies will use its augmented reality platform, originally designed for firefighting, to help the U.S. Air Force bolster the coordination and communication between ground-based personnel and aircraft crews. The company said Thursday it will modify its C-THRU Navigator visual communications platform to accommodate the needs of Air Force Special Operations Command, Air National Guard, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center and the U.S. Forest Service.
