VA, DeepMind Create AI-Based Disease Prediction Model
Google's DeepMind business and the Department of Veterans Affairs have developed a machine learning-based application that works to predict early symptoms of kidney failure. A study published in the journal Nature found that the AI model could help clinicians spot acute kidney injury in patients up to two days in advance and could potentially mitigate the need for serious medical procedures like dialysis or a kidney transplant, VA said Wednesday.

Dewberry Wins FEMA Construction Project Monitoring Task Order
Dewberry has secured a potential three-year task order to help the Federal Emergency Management Agency manage housing repair and construction efforts in the Northern Mariana Islands. The company said Wednesday it will oversee projects to build or fix approximately 600 homes on Saipan and Tinian Islands as part of the third order awarded under the Logistics Construction Support Contract.
