Serco‘s North American subsidiary will assemble shipboard networks aboard the U.S. Navy‘s submarines, aircraft carriers, guided-missile destroyers and amphibious assault ships under two task orders worth $46M combined.

The Navy awarded the task orders under the potential eight-year, multiple-award Consolidated Afloat Networks Enterprise Services contract, the company said Wednesday.

Dave Dacquino, CEO and chairman at Serco Inc., said the company will purchase components, perform rack assembly, integrate commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and carry out factory acceptance tests of CANES platforms under the task orders.

CANES is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which seeks to merge command, control, communications, computers and intelligence applications and legacy shipboard networks into a single framework.

The company has received 11 task orders totaling more than $104M under the IDIQ contract and will perform network assembly work at its San Diego-based facility.
