Peraton announced on Tuesday it has appointed William Evanina, former director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC), to the company's advisory board. Evanina joined other experienced government and industry technology experts who provide advice and counsel to the company to guide its strategic direction.

The U.S. Army has awarded Peraton a two-year, $44 million contract for hypersonic test engineering, mission planning and systems (HyTEMPS). The company said Monday the contract requires Peraton to provide comprehensive mission support for interservice flight test missions to ensure flight test events are successfully executed.

Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton, has been inducted into the 2021 Wash100 Award, marking his fifth time receiving the recognition from Executive Mosaic for his contributions in support of the government contracting community. The award highlights Shea's strong leadership and expansion efforts, including spearheading major acquisitions and valuable contract awards.

Peraton has aligned the company around four business sectors and appointed new executives to its leadership team, following its $3.4 billion acquisition of Northrop Grumman's integrated mission support and IT solutions business, the company reported on Thursday. "As Peraton expands we will be faced with a complex range of new opportunities and challenges across our functions and businesses,” said Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient. 

Veritas Capital has completed its $3.4 billion acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s IT and mission support services business. Veritas announced the multi-billion dollar transaction in December 2020, stating that the transaction will enable Veritas to establish a technology-enabled services platform that can deliver support to a wide range of critical government missions through its combination with Peraton. “The completion of this transaction brings together two dynamic businesses with complementary, mission-critical solutions and capabilities, creating an industry-leading platform with a shared commitment to customer success,” said Ramzi Musallam, chief executive officer and managing partner of Veritas, and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient.

Veritas Capital has moved to acquire Perspecta for $7.1 billion and plans to combine the latter to its portfolio company Peraton to expand its position in the government technology market. Perspecta has entered into a definitive agreement for the all-cash transaction. "Perspecta will be well positioned to build on our momentum and continue executing on customer commitments as Perspecta delivers cyber, digital-transformation and mission-focused solutions,” said Mac Curtis, chairman and CEO of Perspecta and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient. The Homeland Security & Defense Forum’s virtual Border Security Symposium held in December featured a panel discussion on the role of 5G in border security. Mark Adams, senior director of advanced mission capabilities at Peraton, introduced the panel discussion, citing the application of internet of things connectivity in homeland security.

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Spectrum Organization (DSO) has awarded Peraton two contracts worth up to $23 million for development and support services over a five-year period. “Our work on these two awards will allow Peraton to expand our spectrum software-related capabilities, deepen our experience in spectrum sharing solutions, and reinforce our standing in the information warfare space,” said John Coleman, president of Peraton's Defense and Homeland Security Sector. 

Peraton holds a position on a potential $950 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity to help the U.S. Air Force develop an advanced battle management system in support of the Department of Defense's Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) program. "We are proud to have been selected as one of the service's industry partners in developing the information backbone for the future of joint warfighting," said John Coleman, president of Peraton’s defense and homeland security sector.

Peraton has appointed Kevin Meiners, former deputy director of national Intelligence for enterprise capacity at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), to the company's advisory board. He will join other government and commercial technology veterans who advise and counsel Peraton's management team on strategic matters.

Peraton has been awarded a potential five-year, $10 million recompete award by the U.S. Space Force to provide orbital analysis (OA) subject matter expertise (SME) support. "Our experts work closely with their Space Force counterparts to increase Space Domain Awareness, protect Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) signals, and ensure the availability of Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) for national security decision-makers," said Roger Mason.

Peraton will help the Air Force Research Laboratory test the security of a cross-domain information collaboration and sharing platform through lab-based assessments.
