Peraton has aligned the company around four business sectors and appointed new executives to its leadership team, following its $3.4 billion acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s integrated mission support and IT solutions business, the company reported on Thursday.

“As Peraton expands we will be faced with a complex range of new opportunities and challenges across our functions and businesses,” said Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.

The four business sectors are Space & Intelligence, led by Roger Mason, previously president of Space, Intelligence & Cyber at Peraton; Cyber Mission, headed by Tom Afferton, former vice president of Defense & Intelligence at Northrop Grumman; Global Defense & Security, led by John Coleman, former president of Defense & Homeland Security at Peraton; and Civil & Health, headed by Tarik Reyes, previously vice president of Civil & Health at Northrop Grumman.

The Space & Intelligence sector will deliver new programs to expand Peraton’s influence in the space and intelligence customer markets. The Cyber Mission sector will feature full-spectrum cyber programs, information operations and technical solutions that support intelligence, defense and civil markets.

Peraton’s Global Defense & Security sector will add new programs to boost Peraton’s integrated technology offerings to global defense customers, and deliver greater support to the Department of State and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Civil & Health sector will deliver advanced, mission-specific technology solutions, focusing in critical areas such as COVID-19, Medicare, and citizen-centric services.

In addition, Peraton has created three new executive leadership roles to support program excellence, strategy execution and a holistic approach to diversity, equity and inclusion. The company appointed Erik Buice, sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman’s Information Solutions and Services division, as chief performance officer.

Buice will be responsible for the adoption and application of quality and certification standards across Peraton’s portfolio, and establishing performance metrics.

Chris Valentino has been named chief strategy officer tasked to lead the strategic market creation of Peraton.

Valentino will operationalize the company’s strategy and partner with company leaders and managers for execution. Valentino was vice president of Information Warfare and Cyber Survivability at Northrop Grumman.

Laila Salguero, former vice president of Corporate Responsibility at Peraton, will serve as chief diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) officer. In her new role, she will help align the company’s DE&I goals. She will also lead Peraton’s ethics and compliance function.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tom, Tarik, Erik, Chris, and Laila to Peraton’s executive leadership team… and I am confident that our new leaders will be integral to Peraton’s success providing highly differentiated national security solutions and technologies to essential government agencies,” Shea added.
