Peraton has received the large business of the year award from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which acknowledges the company's dedication to supporting small businesses affiliated with JPL. The award is designated for a large business that actively supports JPL small business programs, exceptionally meets contractual obligations and engages in outreach events to promote small businesses aligned with NASA’s missions, Peraton said Friday.

Peraton will deliver information technology platform and network services to the U.S. Special Operations Command under a $2.8 billion Special Operations Forces IT Enterprise Contract 3 Enterprise Operations & Maintenance task order. The range of services includes the maintenance of network operations and providing end-user and common device support as well as configuration, change, license and asset management, the company said Wednesday.

Peraton will relocate its West Lafayette Research and Innovation Center from its current location in West Lafayette, Indiana, to a new space at the Purdue Applied Research Institute to expand research in support of national security missions. Chris Valentino, chief innovation officer at Peraton, heads the center, which operates under the Peraton Strategic Innovation Group to carry out applied research and development in areas such as cyber, quantum technologies, network virtualization and critical infrastructure protection, Peraton said Monday.

Peraton was awarded a $24 million modification to its contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency for continued provision of imagery science expertise and infrastructure support. The award raises the Acadia contract overall value to $130 million and covers six months of services from Peraton to support the agency's image quality and integration testing missions.

Peraton's applied research arm will develop and demonstrate a new piece of technology designed to enable 5G dynamic spectrum sharing at the tactical edge to support military operations. The Flexible Spectrum Harvesting and Adaptive Reuse Enhancement tool will demonstrate bidirectional spectrum sharing between 5G radio access networks and military radars in the 3.1 to 3.55 GHz band, Peraton said Thursday.

Marisa Veseli, formerly director of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Defense Health Agency programs at Peraton, said on LinkedIn on Friday that she had been promoted to senior director of business development for the company's defense enterprise and health business. In her most recent role, Veseli was responsible for overseeing the development of multiple VA and DHA programs including the technical, schedule and cost performance aspects.
