The White House on Wednesday called on technology companies to help the government in its campaign against the new coronavirus, The Hill reported Wednesday. “The White House’s top priority is ensuring the safety and health of the American people amid the COVID-19 outbreak," Michael Kratsios, U.S. chief technology officer and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, said during a phone call Wednesday. "Cutting edge technology companies and major online platforms will play a critical role in this all-hands-on-deck effort."

Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium Communications and a 2019 Wash100 award recipient, told Bloomberg in an audio interview posted Tuesday about the company’s use of SpaceX-built rockets and the role of the private sector in space exploration.
