Accenture’s federal services arm has released a report recommending that federal agencies incorporate a human-centered approach to artificial intelligence system design and encourage their workforce to have a “high degree of trust” in autonomous platforms.

John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services, told Federal News Network in an interview published Thursday that the federal government is focusing on information technology modernization and efforts to improve government services. Dave McClure, principal director and CIO advisory lead at Accenture Federal Services, has said the availability of more data, the increasing computing capacity and the software environment are some of the factors driving the pace of technology modernization in the government, the Washington Business Journal reported Friday. “And you combine all three of these together, and it creates an accelerated path for modernization that we just simply have never had before in government,” McClure said at a WBJ-hosted forum.
