The global market for aerospace 3D printers reached a value of $1.12B last year and is projected to experience a 25.3 percent compound annual growth rate to hit $6.81B by 2027.

Honeywell and the U.S. Army have agreed to test-fly a Chinook helicopter with a new variant of the company's T55 engine to demonstrate the motor's power output and fuel consumption. The 6,000-horespower machine is designed to generate 25 percent more power and consume 10 percent less fuel than the current model.

Honeywell will provide a satellite communications system for U.S. military transport aircraft as part of the Department of Defense-managed Fixed Installation Satellite Antenna program. Honeywell said Monday its Ku-band JetWave system is designed to work with Inmarsat's Global Xpress satellite network to provide global connectivity for the U.S. Air Force's C-17 Globemaster III planes.
