Salesforce.com has received authorization from the Department of Health and Human Services to operate the Salesforce Government Cloud service that looks to provide government customers with platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service offerings.
The company said Friday the cloud offering enables clients to customize or expand applications through the Salesforce1 Platform or develop new applications within a single, web-based environment.
“Government organizations need to be assured that their IT solutions are safe, reliable and trustworthy,” said Dave Rey, senior vice president of public sector at salesforce.com.
“We are helping to build a connected government.”
Salesforce Government Cloud will be available in June.
