Steve Topping, a 13-year industry veteran specializing in driving growth and success for technology and manufacturing companies, has been promoted to chief operating officer at Hoverfly Technologies.
The company said Friday that Topping will spearhead its operational strategy and execution while driving its continued growth and innovation in the field of tethered drone technology. The promotion aligns with Hoverfly’s efforts to strengthen its executive team in anticipation of securing critical contracts.
Steve Topping’s Hoverfly Career
Topping first joined Hoverfly in 2019 as a supply chain specialist. He also served as general manager and director of operations and, eventually, vice president of operations. In over five years at Hoverfly, the executive has helped enhance its American-based supply chain and secure a Green List Certification.
The new COO has also helped drive the company’s growth in the manufacturing space through strategic sourcing and vendor management. Under his leadership, Hoverfly boosted its presence in the drone technology industry.
Furthermore, Topping was instrumental in developing the company’s facility in Missouri, where its flagship tethered drone system, Sentry, is mainly tested and produced.
Steve Walters, CEO of Hoverfly Technologies, remarked, “His understanding of the company’s needs and his commitment to getting the job done made him a natural choice for COO. Steve is going to continue to drive our mission for continuous improvement to provide unmatched tethered drone solutions to our customers, while also bringing new ideas to the table concerning supply chain, quality assurance, product development and overall performance.”
