The Environmental Protection Agency intends to solicit proposals for a research laboratory support services contract potentially worth $100 million.
The EPA Office of Research and Development requires general facility project management, facility equipment maintenance, technical sampling and monitoring, chemistry and microbiology, laboratory instrumentation and electronics, off-site research, and laboratory research activities support, according to a presolicitation notice posted Thursday on SAM.gov.
The government will award a firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials task order with a five-year period of performance. Work will be performed at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina and other sites.
The EPA anticipates an official request for proposals to be issued in early October, with submissions due 30 days later.
The ORD conducts research to support EPA missions and objectives. Some of the areas the office studies are decontamination and disposal of toxic or radioactive materials and atmospheric sciences. The organization is also in charge of developing air quality simulation modeling for the EPA.
