James Ray, formerly the president of Stanley Black and Decker‘s global engineered fastening business, has been named to Spirit AeroSystems Holdings‘ board of directors.
Ray brings 25 years of executive experience to the board, where he will serve on committees focused on risk and compensation, Spirit AeroSystems said Monday.
He retired from Stanley Black and Decker in November 2020 after approximately seven years with the company, where he held a variety of executive roles such as president for industrial and automotive repair in North America.
His career also includes leadership work with General Motors, Delphi Corp. and TE Connectivity.
“His experience in global manufacturing and operations brings additional strength to the board as Spirit executes a strategy to grow across commercial, defense and space and aftermarket segments,” said Robert Johnson, board chair at Spirit AeroSystems.
