A new General Services Administration report says the agency awarded $557 million in federal government contracts to women-owned small businesses in fiscal year 2020.
The value represents approximately 10 percent of GSA's total eligible spend of $5.3 billion in the said year, the agency said Tuesday.
Forty-nine percent or $2.6 billion of GSA's FY20 eligible spend were awarded to small businesses. The figure surpassed the agency's target of 29 percent, according to the report.
Of the reported federal contracting opportunities with women-owned small businesses, $25.6 million or 14.58 percent paid for the delivery of personal protective equipment and other pandemic-related supplies and services.
