Unisys has introduced a software-as-a-service platform designed to help enterprise customers verify and authenticate biometric data.
Stealth(identity) SaaS is designed to operate on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform and protect users and their devices from compromise when used with the Stealth microsegmentation technology, Unisys said Tuesday.
The new offering can support multiple biometric authentication features such as facial recognition and behavioral biometrics and has the potential to accommodate other modalities.
Vishal Gupta, chief technology officer and senior vice president of technology at Unisys, said the company applies its experience in supporting biometric implementation efforts for national ID and border protection efforts through Stealth(identity) and offers the cloud-based service for enterprise-level applications such as airline passenger boarding.
The software works to check the identity of an individual via physical or digital security methods to defend against fraudulent activity.
According to Unisys, its platform supports a single sign-on authentication process and also offers biometrics-based protection for banking, transportation and e-commerce activities.
