NetCentrics’ Robert Schofield: Agencies Should Invest Time in AI Implementation, Training

Robert Schofield, a director at NetCentrics, has said that agencies should leverage industry best practices when implementing automated technologies which have the potential to improve operations and reduce costs.

He wrote in a Nextgov piece published Monday that agencies need to avoid rushing artificial intelligence projects, learn from previous attempts and invest in training in-house technical experts who have the necessary clearance to access secure government facilities.

While automated tools can rapidly execute tasks, Schofield noted that rushing implementation may result in product failure and security vulnerabilities. He also recommended to agencies to reach out to other agencies to “identify lessons learned and establish improved standard operating procedures.”

Such implementation strategies will help senior officials “lead their agencies to endless possibilities of peak productivity and superior performance,” he added.
