Aerojet Rocketdyne won a potential 3.5-year, $19M contract to provide risk reduction services for the Missile Defense Agency’s axial upper stage components.
The company will further develop AUS technologies and analysis platforms in support of MDA’s future efforts to build related systems, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Bids for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract were solicited by the MDA through a broad agency announcement for hypersonic defense component technology posted on FedBizOpps.
MDA will obligate $8M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds for the award, which has a $12M base value for a two-year period. The contract also has a 1.5-year option period worth around $7M which will extend its period of performance to January 2023.
Contract work is expected to take place in Huntsville, Ala., through June 2021.
