Chronicle, a cybersecurity company owned by conglomerate firm Alphabet, has partnered with Google to integrate malware intelligence and threat defense technologies into the Google Cloud platform.
Google said Friday that Chronicle will deploy its VirusTotal malware identification and Backstory telemetry-based threat detection tools to operate alongside Google’s data security portfolio in an effort to provide enterprise-wide network protection for a cloud environment.
The company noted that it seeks to implement a holistic approach to network defense and work with Chronicle to expand security capabilities to cover hardware infrastructure, user identity, internet communication, storage and service deployment procedures.
Google and Chronicle expect to begin integration activities in the coming weeks and conclude the effort this fall.
Chronicle is headquartered at Mountain View, Calif. and offers cybersecurity platforms intended for malware intelligence, threat signal assessment and security telemetry analysis.
