Singapore-based ST Engineering has begun testing a new variant of its Bronco all terrain tracked carrier at Ivalo Test World in northern Finland, EDR On-Line reported Thursday.
The company brought Bronco 3 to Ivalo to assess the vehicle’s capability to operate in cold weather and heavy snow.
“We are excited to introduce these vehicles into the broader international market. The extraordinary versatility and combat proven heritage make the Bronco 3 a force multiplier in a wide variety of applications," Tom Vecchiolla, president and CEO of ST Engineering’s VT Systems business, told ExecutiveBiz.
The Bronco 3 vehicle has a Mercedes-Benz-built diesel engine and features a small screen, reduced kerb weight, Armor 500T plates for ballistic protection and Level 2a/b protection against mines.
The carrier is designed to carry up to 18 tons of payloads and a power supply that allows the integration of any system type.
ST Engineering has an assembly line that is ready to build eight vehicles per month.
