Air Force Issues RFP for Air, Missile Defense Experimentation Center - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Air Force Materiel Command has released a request for proposals to establish an experimentation center for the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense system.

AFMC said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday the center will aim to develop prototypes and associated documentation to increase the performance of JIAMD's battle command system in cyber-contested integrate joint, interagency, intergovernmental, multinational force operations.

The project covers analysis, development of prototypes and engineering documentation that can help drive modifications to IBCS baselines and requirements in the near future. Areas of interest mentioned in the notice are JIIM saensor/shooter integration, command and control integration, software security engineering and hardware security engineering.

Interested parties can submit proposals through March 22.

According to USAF, the government expects to award a firm-fixed-price contract with a potential value of $17.4M and a performance period of 25 months. A contractor should complete the final milestone by May 20, 2021.
