Michael Moritzkat, president of Seagate Government Solutions and a more than three-decade public sector sales veteran, has been elevated to the CEO post at the Herndon, Va.-based data management technology contractor, ExecutiveBiz has learned.
SGS, which data storage company Seagate created in late 2015, credited Moritzkat with driving its growth efforts in the U.S. government market and strategic partnerships with system integrators. He previously served as the unit’s vice president and managing director.
Moritzkat told ExecutiveBiz in an interview last year that SGS was working with agencies on cooperative research-and-development programs as part of efforts to help address their technology requirements.
Before joining SGS in 2014, Moritzkat held senior sales management roles at Xyratex, Panasas Federal and Sun Microsystems. His industry experience includes work on archival storage, storage controller, parallel file system offerings.
