The U.S. Army plans to award Lockheed Martin‘s missiles and fire control business a potential five-year contract to manufacture 343 M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launchers.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday says the proposed sole-source contract is for HIMARS full-rate production lots 10 to 14 and meant to address Army requirements through fiscal year 2023.
The military branch wants Lockheed to also provide spares and repair parts, software and support equipment, as well as maintenance, training, qualification test and obsolescence mitigation services.
The contract will have a one-year base period and four option years.
HIMARS is a wheeled platform designed to fire six guided rockets or one Army Tactical Missile System and can be transported on the C-130 military aircraft.
