United Technologies Corp.’s Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has established an aerospace engineering center in Puerto Rico through a partnership with the island’s government-owned industrial development company.
Pratt & Whitney said Monday it opened the 104K-square-foot facility during a ceremony held Monday and attended by Gov. Ricardo Rosello and PRIDCO representatives.
The building is designed to comply with LEED Silver standards and has an open floor plan meant to facilitate collaboration and communication.
University of Puerto Rico received a $500K donation at the inauguration event.
Pratt & White’s Puerto Rican subsidiary performs design, evaluation and support work on gas turbine engines intended for military and commercial use.
