Chicago, Ill.-based telecommunications firm Motorola has selected Aviat Networks to support the former’s statewide emergency response network modernization effort in Florida.
Milpitas, Calif.-based Aviat will deliver wireless backhaul platforms and services for Motorola’s P25 network project in collaboration with Florida’s Department of Management Services, Motorola said Monday.
Robert Marshall, Motorola’s vice president of sales, said the company is looking forward to constructing an interoperable radio communications system for Florida’s first responders.
Michael Pangia, Aviat’s president and CEO, said Motorola’s selection of Aviat as a provider showcases the latter’s strength in state and local government markets.
Aviat has already provided systems engineering and design services for the project.
